I hate to report that, overall, the hog population in the TX Panhandle is still continuing to grow. All of us at Rush Creek are doing our best to keep a handle on the hogs and have done a decent job of it through the Fall as several of our hunters killed a hog after tagging out on a trophy whitetail. One hunter even harvested 3 hogs in a single evening! I am not sure which he was happier about - The fact that he killed a trophy buck or that he had killed 3 hogs. Anyone wanting to go on a hog hunt should contact me and let me give them a report on the hogs that I am seeing at the time.
As far as other predator hunting goes, as always, we have an abundant population of Bobcats, and the Coyote population is starting to come back after we had a die-off due to mange in our area. If you are looking for a fun & exciting hunt in the off season, give me a call and we’ll go see what we can call up!
See ya soon,
