March 10th, 2011
Well the warmer weather and spring rains are upon us here at Rush Creek Guide Service, and that means we are all starting to get excited about spring turkey season. As we prepare to chase longbeards, we can only hope that the spring rains continue throughout the summer which will allow for maximum antler growth on our whitetail & mule deer bucks.
2010 was a great season for all of us at Rush Creek Guide Service. We were blessed that our clients killed some great bucks, but if you ask many of them, well, they are dreaming of some of the big bucks that got away! They are also dreaming about some of the bucks they passed, wondering what kind of giants they are going to blow up to this next season with one more year to reach their maximum potential. At Rush Creek, many of our hunters are repeat clients that hunt with us year after year so they don’t mind passing up 125″-130″ 3 1/2 yr old bucks because they know that at 4 or even 5 yrs old these bucks have the potential to turn into something special with the great trophy genetics that exist in the TX Panhandle.
“Lets all keep praying for rain throughout the summer, and we’ll keep you posted on any sheds or trail cam pics that we get. All I know is, that with all the great bucks we left this past season, I am banking on the 2011 season being one to remember for both Whitetails and Muleys!”
See ya soon,
